Auchinleck came to Dunterlie on the back of a 9 game winning streak but it was Arthurlie who collected the three points thanks to goals from Joe Andrew and John Bradford early in the second half.
Craig Marshall came in for the injured James Evans and the keeper was put under early pressure when Davidson went close on 12 minutes and then James Latta hit the bar as the visitors dominated the opening spell. Arthurlie weathered the storm and started making inroads to the Talbot goal and Greg McCulloch was in the thick of the action as he set up Joe Andrew on the half hour, the strikers close range shot beat McIntosh but the assistant flagged for offside.
The game was a real treat for the watching 700 fans and Auchinleck went close when Gavin Collins beat Marshall but Ricky Orr cleared off the line, from the clearance John Bradford raced in on McIntosh bit the keeper did well to knock the strikers shot for a corner. Gary Faulds was forced into a change in defence after Davie Prow picked up a rib injury and his place was taken by Paul McLaughlin.
The second half was only 5 minutes old when Arthurlie opened the scoring with a goal of real quality, Martin Hughes passed to Greg McCulloch inside his own half and the right back pinged a 60 yard cross over the head of the Talbot defender and with one swing of Joe Andrews left foot the ball rocketed high past McIntosh to send Dunterlie wild. Less than a minute later and the lead was doubled, McIntosh fumbled as he tried to roll the ball out to a team mate and John Bradford had the simple task of blasting the ball into the unguarded net.
Arthurlie were now in full flow and a tremendous passing move down the right wing saw Ross Ballantyne cut the ball back for Ricky Orr and it took a last ditch block from Lundie to prevent a third goal .Talbot had strong penalty claims when Paul Hilland appeared to push Collins in the box but the referee instead awarded a free kick to Arthurlie as Collins crashed into Brian Wardle. Hilland was not so lucky with 10 minutes to go when he picked up a second yellow card for a block on Latta and Auchinleck took advantage to set up a nervy finish when Bryan Young curled a peach of a shot low past Marshall with 5 minutes remaining. Despite a great effort from Talbot the 'lie held on for a vital three points.
